Rubio Mocks Cruz "Because He Doesn't Speak Spanish" (or so he thought)
(Feb 14, 2016) On last night's GOP debate, as Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz exchanged jabs about immigration policies, Cruz critized Rubio for something he said in an interview on Univision (Spanish-speaking network).
Immediately Rubio dismissed Cruz's comment by saying, “First of all, I don’t know how he knows what I said on Univision because he doesn’t speak Spanish.”
To which Cruz replied, "Marco, si quieres, díselo ahora... ahora mismo. Díselo ahora... en español si quieres."
Which translates to: "Marco, if you want, say it to them now... right now. Say it to them now... in Spanish if you want."
Thanks to that exchange, we now know that there were three confirmed Spanish speakers on that panel: Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Jeb Bush!
