From Chicago’s largest Spanish school… to a nationwide and international Spanish-learning platform.

SpanishLC began as one of the most prominent Spanish schools in the Midwest and evolved into a global online learning hub, serving students and instructors across the United States and worldwide.

Our History

Founded and directed by Juan Cortez — educator, author, and creator of the Cortez Method — our school built a reputation for clarity, structure, and real-world communication. Over the years, thousands of adult learners passed through our classrooms in Chicago, Illinois. Today, tens of thousands more study with us online, through our books, and through programs taught by instructors we have trained across the country.

SpanishLC has grown, transformed, and expanded its reach — without losing the teaching philosophy that started it all.

Our Chicago Legacy

(A Proud History)

For decades, SpanishLC proudly operated multiple locations across Chicago and the suburbs:

Opened in 2004, our Downtown location at 55 E Monroe St, Suite 3800 became the heart of SpanishLC’s operations. Located in the Loop, it served students, and corporate groups, helping establish SpanishLC as the largest Spanish school in Chicago.
